Romanian-Italian business translations: preparing for consistent results

Andreea Hărămiță · 14 September 2026

A company’s contracts, proposals and presentations should use consistent terminology. A short brief at the outset helps keep everything aligned.

Specify the audience and purpose

A customer presentation, a distributor proposal and a contract have different language needs. Explain who will read the document and where it will be used. For websites, identify the relevant pages and the action you want visitors to take: requesting a quote, booking an appointment or making contact.

Send the final version and annexes

Ideally, the source document is approved internally before translation. Include the annexes, tables and notes referred to in the text. If an editable file is available, send it with the reference PDF. Communicate any subsequent changes and clearly identify the current version to avoid mixing up drafts.

Prepare a company glossary

A list of product names, abbreviations and preferred terms can reduce clarification requests. Include previously approved translations if you have permission to share them. Specify which trade names should remain unchanged and which expressions have a particular meaning in your business.

Choose a contact for questions

For a specialised document, designate someone who can clarify technical terms or context. The translator may ask for explanations when the source wording is ambiguous. For contracts, legal review of obligations and clauses remains a separate step from translation.

Organise recurring projects

For ongoing work, maintain a shared set of terms and approved versions. In your enquiry, mention the estimated volume, document frequency and usual deadlines. Andreea Hărămiță works directly with clients on Romanian-Italian and Italian-Romanian translations, including commercial projects.
